The team has had a very busy schedule, complicated by heavy rains from Tropical Storm Boris which developed in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico and Guatemala. This caused them to arrive 3 hours late to their clinic location on Monday due to landslides and flooding on the mountain roads. Apart from growing tired of the cold, damp, and rainy weather, they are all well and enthusiastic and adjusting to the completely different diet and foods of Guatemala.
The daily clinics are going well and they are attending from 150 to 250 people per day. During the clinic they have lessons and activities for the kids, something like a VBS. They had had up to 40 kids per day, and Rebeca is doing most of the work with the kids since she speaks Spanish. They also have the opportunity to share Bible lessons with the people as they wait to be attended in the clinic, something which the youth from the local Lutheran church is helping with.
Thanks to all who are praying for the team. Give praise for all the people they were able to serve and pray that the Gospel they heard will produce fruit in their lives. As the team is now returning home, continue to pray for Rebeca as she heads to a different part of Guatemala to deliver dresses for girls made by our Helping Hands group at Emmanuel to one of the poorest areas of Guatemala.
